Arduino meets Resolume [Make your Vj controller!]

I'm really glad to announce a new Arduino workshop, VJ-related, in Rome, at the end of the month.

It's quite a long time now I'm dealing with Arduino. I've followed Massimo in some workshop organized in the last year, and deepened my knowledge of the board (by making sooo many mistakes).

Now, it's preatty straightforward sending data to PD, Processing or MAX/Msp with Arduino. Over the years, I always asked myself in which way Arduino, my favourite beloved italian board, could have helped the (other) big majority of visualist who use mass vj software, like Resolume 3 or Modul8.

So the idea of this workshop came in my mind. Arduino meets Resolume is the prototyping of a simple yet modular little vj console, inside a VHS case. A normal Arduino workshop with some hacking, some programming, a lot of amusement. A perfect intro to many vjs who want to make a turntable out of a hackek HD, or just learn how to solder/desolder/heal some electronic equipment.

I'm keeping this workshop with Kobon, a coding artist friend of mine, from Milan. Resolume 3 is the first step of a series of attempt, leading to a Processing bridge OSC/MIDI that converts serial input from the arduino to more "eatable" OSC commands for Resolume 3. You'll check it on github as soon as we have something stable to post.

The costs are expensive compairing to other workshop hosted by LPM, but a kit with breadboard, pots, buttons, Arduino, and some multiplexer is worth 60 euros more (by the way, pots and sliders are so f*****g expensive...).

write @ davide.gomba[at]gmail.com for more info. ciao and see you in Rome.

Resolume: I'm going to gift you one of this controllers, if you promise to add OSC out in the next release!
